Jalebi Recipe | No Cornflour No Baking Powder Jalebi | Urad Dal - Maida Jalebi
Jalebi जलेबी is a very popular sweet dish of Indian subcontinent, especially served in morning breakfast. It's also served during festivities along with other sweet dishes. It's similar to Gulab Jamun / Rasgulla / Malpua but the only difference is in it's shape, it's a spiral looking sweet round in shape. It tastes bit sour due to lemon added in the sugar syrup.
Best served when hot.Preparation Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:-
Urad Dal- 1 cup(soaked for 4 hours)
All purpose flour- 2 tbsp
Sugar- 2 cups
Water- 1 cup
Food Colour(Orange)- 2 pinch
Cardamom- 3 pieces
Saffron- 2 pinch
Lemon- 1 cutted into half
Ghee- 1 cup
Method:-
1. Take a mixer grinder, add the urad dal & make a paste of it.
2. Pour it in a bowl now add the maida & orange food Colour.
3. Mix well the batter so that it's neither too thick nor too thin.
4. The consistency of the batter should be properly.
5. Add water according to the consistency. Keep stirring the batter.
6. Now pour the batter on a squeezable bottle(like that of ketchup)
7. Take a kadhai add water, sugar, saffron, cardamom & lemon juice.
8. Mix it well until sugar melts.
9. Now again take the frying pan, add ghee & let it melt.
10. Then with the squeezable bottle of batter make round spiral shape jalebi's.
11. Let it fry until golden brown.
12. Now take them out in a plate.
13. Put them into the sugar syrup & cover the lid for 5 minutes or until they are completely soaked.
14. Now take them out & serve hot.
